Job Summary
Provide management and leadership, Research planning and implementation of new programs, protocols and overseeing the development of new products from the initial planning phase to implementation or production. Keep track all costs related to the development of new products and optimization of products.
Develop R&D Plan & Programs for New and Optimized Products

Responsibilities

  • Development, Establishing R&D plan, programs and procedures for new and optimized products
  • Developing and implementing research and developments projects, priorities and targets to support business requirements
  • Playing major roles and coordinating activities of product development (New Product and Optimization)
  • Assessing the benefits and monitoring the costs and effectiveness of research and development activities
  • Interpreting results and findings of research and development projects and recommending associated product innovations
  • Manage trial or testing programs for products
  • Lead innovation and development through strong technical market awareness
  • Ensure that there are suitable documentation processes for the new products developed.

Development of Specifications, Test Methods and R&D Procedures

Responsibilities

  • Develop and prepare raw material, packing material and finished product specification based on the outcome of the research and development project.
  • Development of process parameters to be followed on production process
  • Establish and maintain testing procedures for assessing raw materials, in both process and finished products
  • Preparation of Standard operating procedure for production process
  • Responsible for solving of technical issues that arise during the development; production and operational phase of the developed product.
  • Assess technical risks and mitigation plan
  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems on process problem that occur during product development and production.

Direct and Supervise Junior R&D Expert

Responsibilities

  • Manages the day-to-day activities of Junior R&D Expert including scheduling and managing Research and development activities
  • Conduct training and evaluation for Junior R&D Expert and provide support during R&D activities
  • Oversee team members work to ensure that they adhere to specifications.

Qualification & Specification:
  • BSC in chemical engineering or other related field of study.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in an FMCG industry, in a supervisory or managerial position.
  • Research and Development expertise ideally from a production engineering background earlier in career.
